Past events at wild daisy books

We were excited to welcome Carol Maloney-Scott to the shop to sign copies of Adventures of City Girl, The Funeral Date, The Parent Feud, The Wedding Bells, Nobody Tells Lia Anything, and Something Molly Can't See. Guests enjoyed meeting Carol and getting signed copies of her novels. Surf's Up Lemonade was set up outside serving fresh-squeezed lemonade in a variety of flavors. Thank you to everyone who joined us for a fun afternoon of books and lemonade!!

It was a very fun afternoon having C&F Bank and TURBO's Snowballs at the shop! The first 50 customers received $5 toward their purchase courtesy of C&F Bank, and the community showed up to support local shopping. Families enjoyed browsing for books, relaxing under the umbrellas, and cooling off with colorful snowballs on a beautiful day!

We were excited to welcome author David Reid Brown to the shop for an afternoon of books and poetry. David signed copies of his books, Relatables, Sophia's Songs and Psalms From the Sea: Operations while guest enjoyed delicious food from Sabor Jalisco Food Truck. We look forward to welcoming David back to the shop in the future as he completes and publishes more of his poetry collections.

We were excited to welcome author Kristin Kisska to the shop to sign copies of her novel, The Hint of Light. Guest also enjoyed delicious food from Amma's Curry in a Hurry while celebrating Independent Bookstore Day with special discounts, raffles, and plenty of great books! We look forward to welcoming Kristin back to the shop when she publishes future novels.

We were excited to welcome author Jan Marry to the shop to sign copies of her novel, Sweet Tea and Anzac Biscuits. C&D's BBQ joined us for the day, serving up delicious barbecue and southern favorites. It was a wonderful afternoon filled with books, food, and community. We look forward to welcoming Jan back to the shop for future releases and signings. 

We were excited to welcome author Elsie Bea to the shop to sign her small-town spicy romance novels, Something Like Sunflowers, Something Like Sugar and Something Like Starlight. The Battered Badger joined us for the day, serving up a delicious variety of sandwiches, hot dogs and French fries! We enjoyed spending time with Elsie and look forward to welcoming her back to the shop when she publishes more novels. 

We were excited to welcome local West Point author Kelly Heard to the shop to sign her thriller novels The Silent Girl and The Woman in the Water. The Salty Lemon joined us for the day, serving refreshing lemonade in a variety of flavors. Kelly is currently working on her next novel, and we look forward to welcoming her back to the shop when it is published.

On January 10, 2026, we proudly opened the doors to Wild Daisy Books and welcomed our first customers. What began as a dream became reality as friends, family, and members of our community joined us to celebrate our grand opening. Despite a day filled with will steady heavy rain, readers still came out to support our new bookstore, making the day even more special. The Battered Badger joined us for the celebration, serving delicious food to guest throughout the day. We are incredibly grateful for the encouragement and support we received on that special day and look forward to continuing to share our love of books with readers of all ages for years to come!
